LG is taking the lead with Optimus 3D; an Android phone with dual cameras for shooting photos and video in 3D and play it all back on the screen without using 3D glasses. It may well be that Nintendo is proud of its 3DS console that can display games and movies in three dimensions without glasses, but now it seems that the company will be overtaken by LG, which is ready with the world's first smartphone that can shoot and display 3D without glasses.
The LG Optimus 3D smartphone will be announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 14 February, and LG says that visitors will have the opportunity to play with the gadget. We don't know all the specifications yet, but it is reported that Optimus 3D will be equipped with a 4.3-inch screen, a fast dual core processor and easy sharing of 3D content, either via HDMI connection or wirelessly via DLNA. "LG Optimus 3D does something about the lack of 3D content - one of the biggest problems on the 3D market - by offering a complete platform in a unique mobile device," the company said in a statement.
