Two new Android-based phones from HTC are now official - the Desire Desire HD and Desire Z with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The HTC Desire HD is the largest of the two as it builds on a large 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen with 480x800 pixel resolution and nice features like a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 CPU (Snapdragon), 768MB RAM, and the entire 1.5 GB of ROM memory. As the name implies, HTC's Desire HD supports recording 720p video and also comes with an 8.0 megapixel camera and dual LED flashes. The phone supports most video and audio formats on the market and comes with a 1230 mAh battery that will provide up to 9 hours of talk time over over the GSM network.

HTC Desire Z has a slightly smaller 3.7-inch touchscreen, but whith the same resolution as its big brother. The processor is a 800MHz MSM7230 Qualcomm CPU, also built with the 45nm process that will provide lower power consumption than today's Snapdragon Designs. This smartphone also has an impressive 1.5 GB of ROM memory for applications, but 512MB of RAM instead of big brother's 768MB. Another interesting feature is the graphics component--the adreno 205 GPU--which should theoretically provide excellent graphics performance. Apart from the QWERTY keyboard, it also offers support for recording 720p video, a 5 megapixel camera sensor, 1,300 mAh battery for 6-9 hours talk time and built-in Bluetooth 3.0.
